The folks at PC Magazine got a look at the M10 release and wrote an article about it. We got four out of five stars, which is great, and shows why we’re still working hard and taking feedback from users on how to make Windows Live Hotmail better – we’d love to earn five-star reviews from all of our users and reviewers.

Here’s what PC Magazine had to say:

"Microsoft’s terrific webmail beta just got even better with the latest iteration, which is being rolled out in stages to the millions of Windows Live Mail beta users. The two biggest changes: Microsoft’s decision to return to the familiar Hotmail name, and the ability to initiate a Live Messenger session with any other contacts while Live Messenger is running. This and Windows Live Hotmail’s uncluttered, straightforward, and intuitive interface earn the service the Editors’ Choice it shares with Yahoo! Mail (beta). …

In the end, and despite a few beta kinks, I’d recommend that everyone with an existing Microsoft webmail service give the new Windows Live Hotmail (beta) a spin. With 2GB of free storage and a terrific new interface, there’s a good chance that you won’t be reverting back to your old ways anytime soon."

For those of you wondering when you’ll see M10, we’re deploying it slowly to users because we have so many users now. That way, if there’s a problem with the release, fewer users will be affected by the problem. This is a pretty common practice for web software these days.
