Joy, so my hotmail account got converted for me. And I HATE it.

Just I hate outlook. I will never use it willingly. Why would anyone use it when they aren't forced to do so by work? 

 

And the description of "hotmail mashed up with word" is sadly pretty fitting which is to say it's completely unusable to do basic things. Which is all I'd ever want to do with a free email tool.  I hate word.  The last time ms word was useful was mac version 5.1a. It's been one useless annoying feature after another since then. If I wanted something fancy, I'd use a professional tool to do it, not some crappy word document. It's a bloated dead whale, and it smells bad.

 

Sadly now I have a hotmail account that I use for stuff, and I can't forward it to something else.

 

please make live mail go away, bring me back my hotmail.

I am having huge problems with hotmail support. I have had a hotmail account for 10 years under chrismpowell@hotmail.com. When I upgraded to Vista my stored password with that account was lost. I have sent numerous requestes for a password reset and they will not resolve the problem. They keep insisting on me sending them information for the account that I do not have. They want me to name email folders for the account, I had none. They want alternative email accounts for the account, there was no such thing when I set it up 10 YEARS AGO! I have sent them my last four physical home addresses (I have moved in the last 10 years) I have offered my social security number, my drivers license number here in Texas, ANYTHING THEY WANT! I can prove who I am easier to my credit card companies that I can to the stupid hotmail people! I am a long, long time paying subscriber to msn.com (10 years) I have subscribed to Windows Live Onecare, I am a longtime subscriber to the soon to be eliminated bCentral service. I have been an advid supporter and paying customer of Micorosft and it's products for years. WHY CAN'T I GET A SIMPLE PASSWORD RESET FOR AN EMAIL ACCOUNT THAT WAS LOST WHEN I UPGRADED TO VISTA AND YOU CHANGED FROM HOTMAIL TO WINDOWS LIVE BECAUSE I MADE THE MISTAKE OF HAVING A STORED PASSWORD. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Otherwise, search for 'Outlook Connector' on the Microsoft Website. There are two: the new beta and the original.

"Premium" ... "Plus" ... The exact, correct label is irrevelant given that it's easy to understand (and seems to have been understood) that I'm differentiating the free version of Hotmail versus the paid version(s). I reiterate my first point. Quit whining. It's a free service, the new Outlook Connector will be nice to have when it's available, and Microsoft will release it when they are ready to release it. If they change their minds and don't release it, then nothing lost and I'll rely on the new 'Windows Mail' client to check my Hotmail accounts. (No guarantees that "Windows Mail" is the correct name of the software!)

Cannot access from within Outlook  -just get a message sending me here where there is nothing about it.

Please try and fix it -been trying for 3 weeks now

RJN: I have to agree with m00n, Microsoft is who said "later this month" (in May) and have yet to offer an explaination about why we're near the middle of June w/o the promised connector.  If they're going to give it to us "for free" anyway and given the delay, why not just make the existing connector availble to Hotmail accounts?

 

There's also no such thing as "Hotmail Premium", it's "MSN Premium" and costs $9.95/mo ($120/yr seems a bit excessive for basic email with limited features).  There was MOOL (Microsoft Office Outlook Live) that I think cost $60/mo ($40/mo at intro), but that is no longer offered.  I'm already a satisfied "[Windows Live] Hotmail Plus" subscriber, so it's not like I want somethin' for nuttin'.

I couldn't agree more with the person who posted 'reality bites', on every damn issue. Lets face it guys, ur really not upto it. How you survive is a true mystery.

I'm using Windows Live mail Desktop, and am fully satisfied. Hope the software will be available in danish soon.

ziet er voor mij veel beter uit omdat ik het graag in het groot wil zien en DUIDELIJK. ik heb nog veel werk te doen voor alles bij te werken maar ik heb toch een paar vragen aan iemand die mij daar op kan antwoorden zoals , als je bij microsoft werkt moet je dat voor niets doen buiten de bepaalde downloads die je krijgt.ik weet niet maar daar kun je niet van eten en zoals ik bepaalde zaken moest nemen zoals mobiel enz....en moet dat allemaal zelf betalen zoals ik ook een gsm nodig heb(een compatibele)dat kost toch allemaal geld en dat kan ik niet van het mijne betalen want ik heb zelf nauwelijks genoeg.misschien daarover een kleine toelichting zou gene kwaad kunnen.T"ivo.

 

This is ridiculous. A calendar is a MUST HAVE! First a delay, and then lack of features. Not funny.

 

RJN, no one asked MS to promise May if they could not deliver. They did it on their own. The worst is, there is no acknowledgment or explanation.

I am also waiting for the Outlook Connector to be realeased. Today is the 7th of June...

As usual MS touting something but forgetting to actually tell people how to do it. So I challenge one of you to use the install and then figure out how to add your hotmail account.  It is not in the help. 

Come on everyone - relax about the upcoming new Outlook Connector. I'm also curious about it and can't wait for it to become available. I've checked this site periodically to see if it's become available, but I'm tired about reading the "where is it?" I'm assuming there are still software or network issues that need to be worked out. If Microsoft released it early and buggy, then the complaints would be about how poorly it works. If you want it now and you want calendar sync capability, upgrade to Hotmail Premium and use the existing Outlook Connector. If you want it for FREE, then wait for the new connector (and, please stop complaining). (And, no - I don't work for Microsoft.)

Received something call Windows Live Hotmail Newsletter.  It promotes a new version of the Outlook Connector.  However, there is no download link to the new software.  Why are you promoting something that isn't available?  Is this a return to "vaporware?"

I wish I could be working on one of Windows Live teams...

But according to that webpage, it will only synchronise Mail and Contacts (which is good, and will be very useful)

But what about Calendar????
